The Recipe: Air-Fried French Fries

Ingredients:

  • 2 large russet potatoes (or Yukon Gold for a creamier texture). I use the rule of one potato per person; they actually heat up well, to so they make for great leftovers!

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or enough to coat

  • ½ tsp sea salt (or to taste) (I like a little more)

  • Optional seasonings: Garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, or Parmesan

Instructions:

Step 1: Prep the Potatoes

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes. Peel them or leave the skin on for extra crispiness!

  2. Cut into ¼-inch thick fries (thinner for crispier fries, thicker for softer fries).

📌 Pro Tip: Soak the fries in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch—this makes them even crispier! I use ice water.

Step 2: Season the Fries

  1. Drain and pat dry completely with a towel (moisture prevents crisping!).

  2. Toss the fries in a bowl with olive oil and sea salt. Add any extra seasonings you like!

📌 Pro Tip: Don’t overcrowd the fries—this helps them cook evenly and get crispy!

Step 3: Air-Fry Until Perfectly Crisp

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (190°C).

  2. Arrange fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Or wire rack!

  3. Cook for 15–18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking. They may take longer, depending on how thick you cut the fries.

📌 Want extra crispy fries? Increase the temp to 425°F for the last 2–3 minutes.
