Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Natural Ingredients: No preservatives or additives—just pure, whole foods.

  • Quick and Easy: Ready in minutes with a blender.

  • Customizable: Adjust the sweetness and spice level to suit your taste.

The Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 lemon, one peeled, one not

  • 1-2 orange, peeled

  • About 1 Cup of Ginger

  • Tablespoon of dried turmeric or 1/4-1/2 cup fresh turmeric

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon raw honey (or more to taste)

  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ cup coconut water or more if you want to water it down more

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Wash everything thoroughly. I like washing all my fruits and vegetables by soaking them in vinegar water and then rinsing them.

  2. Blend: Blend on high until smooth.

  3. Strain (optional): If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. I personally never strain because I prefer the added fiber.

  4. Pour and store: Pour the mixture into either a large jar or a small glass.

  5. Serve: Take 1–2 shots daily, especially in the mornings, to boost your immune system.

Health Benefits of Key Ingredients

  • Lemon & Orange: High in vitamin C, which helps strengthen your immune system and fight off colds.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar: Known for its antimicrobial properties and ability to support gut health.

  • Honey: A natural sweetener with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Cayenne Pepper & Black Pepper: Boosts circulation and helps the body absorb nutrients more effectively.

  • Coconut Water: Hydrates and provides essential electrolytes.

  • Ginger: Known for its anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties, ginger can help ease digestion, reduce nausea, and fight off colds and infections. It’s also great for reducing muscle soreness and menstrual pain.

  • Turmeric: Packed with curcumin, turmeric is a powerful antioxidant and natural anti-inflammatory. It can help reduce chronic inflammation, support brain health, and even improve heart health. Pair turmeric with black pepper to boost absorption and maximize its benefits.

Tips for Making Immune-Boosting Shots

  • Adjust the spice level: If you’re sensitive to spice, start with a smaller amount of cayenne and gradually increase.

  • Sweeten to taste: Add more honey if you prefer a sweeter shot.

  • Make ahead: These shots stay fresh in the fridge, so you can prep them for the week.
